The Dog Days of Summer Reading

It’s an old expression. Envision a couple of floppy-eared dogs belly down on the front porch. They’re not doing anything, and they’re not going anywhere. We feel just the same on those thick, hot days when simply moving from one room to another feels like too much work. And so, like the coldest days of winter, these times are ideal for reading; preferably nothing too heavy or requiring too much effort. Add a good book, a tall glass of lemonade. Oh…and don’t forget the dogs.
